#7 – Sassy’s Insights, Buckle Changes, and Growth.

In the latest episode of the XDFA Podcast, host Gunbelt is joined Brad & Sassy who is filling in for Pixie, this week! Sassy, a key member of the XFDA since its inception, discusses her experiences with the organisation and her role as the organisational secretary. She shares insights about the recent challenges at the Tombstone shoot, noting that the outdoor environment made it particularly tough compared to Texas’s renowned indoor ranges. Despite these difficulties, she was pleased with her performance, finishing in fifth place and hitting some much-needed threes.

Brad addresses some recent issues with buckles, explaining that a mix-up in the ordering process led to delays. However, all issues have been resolved, and improvements are being made to prevent future problems. The podcast also covers the introduction of new fastest time buckles, donated by Rock on Framing, which will be passed on to the next person who breaks the record. These buckles, which started with Jack House Giles in Mississippi, are intended to become a historical part of the sport, celebrating record achievements.

Sassy mentions that she is working on a checklist for event planning to assist clubs in organizing future events more efficiently. Additionally, the podcast highlights a new partnership with Molly Custom Silver, a local buckle maker that should streamline the process of producing and delivering buckles. Looking ahead, the XFDA is seeing significant growth, with membership expected to reach 500 soon. The organization continues to thrive and adapt, ensuring a bright future for the sport.
