In this podcast episode, the hosts Gun Belt, Pixie Quick, and Brad the Quick discuss their recent shooting event at Wagoner’s, where Pixie performed notably well, placing fourth out of 16 shooters. The group is preparing for a trip to Arizona for another shoot and reflects on their experiences and the fun they have had. They also introduce their special guest, Mongoose, a fast draw shooter who has shown significant improvement in the sport over the past six months, reducing his times considerably.
Mongoose shares his journey into fast draw shooting, which began after a co-worker, Ruckus, introduced him to the sport. He describes how he initially started with basic equipment and gradually improved through practice, moving from mid-four-second times to consistently hitting low three-second marks. Mongoose attributes his progress to consistent practice, mental focus, and the supportive community in the XFDA. He enjoys the camaraderie and frequent shooting opportunities within the association, noting the positive and encouraging atmosphere that helps him and his sons, who also participate in the sport, continue to grow and improve.
